Tour 1: The Complete Southern Rhone (6 nights)

With this tour guests have time to discover all the great Crus of the Southern Rhone and explore the region. Visits to several Domaines for each Cru as well as our Atelier tasting schedule allow guests to compare and contast the terroirs and the winemaking approaches of different producers within each Cru. We don't ignore the Northern Rhone - you will be tutored through a tasting of superb exampes of Hermitage, Cote Rotie, Cornas, St. Joseph and Condrieu in our Atelier sessions and over dinner.

However the tour focuses on the best of the Cru and Village wines from the Southern Rhone the hotter, flatter, but surprisingly diverse area that stretches south from Montelimar to Avignon. A combination of morning briefings and tutored tastings at

La Madelène

is followed by visits and tastings to twelve prestigious estates representing the very best of the Southern Rhone. You will taste premium wines from Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Lirac, Tavel, Beaumes de Venise, Vacqueras, Cairanne, Sablet and Seguret. Naturally you will have ample opportunity to enjoy the wines as an accompaniment to fabulous food at our selected restaurants and at our table. Depending on your stamina you will have experienced tasting no less than 70 of the best wines available in this region from over 30 hand picked properties during the course of your stay.

Tour 2: Selected Domaines of the Southern Rhone (3 nights)

Our three night tour is aimed at the wine lover who wants the 'edited highlights' of this fascinating wine region. 'Selected Domaines' comprises a combination of morning briefings and tutored tastings with Philip in the Atelier at

La Madelène

followed by visits and tastings to six prestigious estates representing the very best of the Southern Rhone.

At our Atelier briefings you will get up to speed via a tutored tasting on all 15 of the Rhone valley Crus . . . including all the famous Northern Crus - including superb examples of Hermitage, Cote Rotie, Cornas, St. Joseph and Condrieu. Our six Domaine visits will embrace premium wines from Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise, and Cairanne. Naturally you will have ample opportunity to enjoy the wines as an accompaniment to fabulous food at our selected restaurants and at our table. Depending on your stamina you will have in this short space of time experienced tasting around 40 of the best wines available in this region from over 20 hand picked properties.

Tour 3: Rhone Stars Short Tour (1 day / 1 night)

For our guests who are perhaps already in the region we offer a short tour package which comprises a one night stay and dinner at

La Madelène

, followed by a day tour visiting three Domaines and a gourmet Provencal lunch including wine. The price includes all these elements.

There are no set dates for these short tours - please give us a call or e-mail us to arrange dates. Your transport for the day is a 9 seater air-conditioned Mercedes Vito. We can take up to 8 people on these tours but if you want a private trip for your party contact us and we will arrange it.

Tour 4: Bespoke Day Tour (1 day)

For those already staying in our region

La Madelène

Rhone Wine Holidays can provide a bespoke, private, one day tour service, subject to availability. We will pick you up (we can take up to 8 ) in our Mercedes Vito at around 9:30 am and chauffeur you on a wine tasting circuit to some of the Southern Rhone's finest estates - we will visit and taste at three important Domaines during the day.

The price includes a typical Provencal bistro lunch including wine. The tours conclude at approximately 5:30 pm. Payment by cash in euros on the day.There are no set dates for these day tours - please give us a call or e-mail us to arrange dates.
