Just back from a two day break in the Camargue staying at Arles over night. Wonderful! We were the last car on the chain ferry at Salin-de-Giraud; we walked alongside hundreds of flamingos at the Etang du Fangassier; Saw white horses and bulls; Lily had  her second med swim of the year at the busy seaside resort of Saintes-Marie-de-la- Mer before we headed for Arles where we stayed at the legendary Grand Hotel Nord Pinus on the Place du Forum in the old town centre. Dinner at Au Brin de Thym….good squid in a Rouille sauce …washed down with a respectable Les Baux rose. (more…)
